Our Minister
Mark Chapple
Mark’s whole purpose is to be in an intimate relationship with an incredible savior in Jesus Christ that is inspired by these words. “Yes, everything else is worthless when compared with the infinite value of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord. For his sake I have discarded everything else, counting it all as garbage, so that I could gain Christ and become one with him.” (Phil 3:8)
Mark’s passion and ever increasing desire is to know and live for Christ Jesus in every aspect of his life through the power and presence of the Holy Spirit. In the care of a loving, gracious God. Jesus Christ is Mark’s hero.
Mark’s passion is also to serve Christ’s church and Christ’s mission for the rest of his days investing for the glory of God and the benefit of others. (John 15:7,8)
Mark’s best understanding of how he serves the Lord is through intercessory prayer, pioneering leadership, sharing God’s word, faith for transformation and developing the next generation of leaders for the Kingdom of God.
Missions and Community Pastor
Emmah Makuthi
After many years of working in government, the United Nations, civil society, and parachurch organizations, Emmah wholeheartedly responded to the Lord’s call to Pastoral ministry in her country of origin, Kenya, and now here in Western Sydney.
Emmah therefore considers it a great honour and privilege to be part of and to serve the body of Christ at Penrith Baptist Church. She believes that God has uniquely positioned the church to have a profound and undeniable impact in the local community, the city, and the nations.
She is passionate about making disciples (Matthew 28:18–20) and encouraging and strengthening believers toward maturity in Him who is the head, that is, Christ (Ephesians 4:14–15).
Emmah is joyfully married to Chris Makuthi, and together they are blessed with three teenagers—two girls and a boy. As a family, they are grateful to worship and serve together at Penrith Baptist Church.
Above all, she takes great joy in being a deeply loved daughter of Abba Father, whose love is revealed through the death and resurrection of His Son, Jesus Christ, and graciously pouredinto her heart by the Holy Spirit.
